Careful Record Keeping Pays Off
Both employers and healthcare plans must be meticulous
As healthcare costs continue to rise, the importance of accurate and up-to-date record keeping also increases. Seemingly minor mistakes can cost your business considerable amounts of money in overpayments and labor expenses.
Employers play an important role. Data entry should be done with a keen focus on accuracy, and then updates (including retirements, births, etc.) must be completed in a timely and thorough fashion. Most importantly, the claims administrator must be notified of these changes, or work out a system to regularly make these updates. One way or the other, it is imperative that the system contains accurate data.

Quality IT systems, diligent monitoring, and accurate fee schedules help ensure proper handling and stellar internal controls.
